Please join us for the first 2008 meeting of the Ecology Journal Club (EJC)
at 5:00 p.m. this Friday (February 1) at the Coastal Waters Lab. We will be discussing

Griswold, Marcus W. and L. Philip Lounibos.  2006. Predator identity and additive effects in a treehole community. Ecology 87(4). pp. 987-995. 
 
This experiment addresses the predation behavior of two aquatic larval dipterans on their mosquito larvae prey.  The PDF of the article is attached to this email.
 
Meetings are BYOB, all manner of food and beverage is welcome.  The Coastal and Marine Institute does have kitchen facilities if you need refrigeration or a microwave.

ANNOUNCEMENTS


Computer Lab Open Hours LS 126 Spring 2008
 
The Biology Dept computer lab (LS 126) is used as a classroom much of the day. During other indicated hours it is available as an OPEN LAB with a GA monitoring its use only for students enrolled in Biology classes that are using the lab this semester, in order to work on class assignments.  Other Biology students please use computers (Macs only) in LS 117. 
 
LS126 will NOT be available for open lab Friday 8am-1pm on the following dates when it is used by Biol-354: Feb 1, Feb 8, Feb 29, Mar 28, Apr 11
